Pinktober Celebration 2021

Pinktober – A Fight Against Breast Cancer

Pinktober is to mark the month of October to support breast cancer patients and we at Ba Town Council would like to advocate on the early detections to help in fighting this deadly disease. The Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in the year 1985 by the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical company now known as AstraZeneca. This month is to mark strength and survival and also advocate and push to educate people about the realities of breast cancer.

In 2020, there were 2.3 million cases of Breast Cancer and a total of 68500 deaths were recorded globally. Breast Cancer occurs in every country of the world in women at any age after puberty but with increasing rates in later life. Breast Cancer treatment can be highly effective especially when the disease is identified early. We as the Ba Town Council would love to advocate and educate people as much as possible on the early symptoms and risks associated with breast cancer.

The first sign of breast cancer often is a breast lump or an abnormal mammogram. Breast cancer stages range from early, curable breast cancer to metastatic breast cancer, with a variety of breast cancer treatments. Male breast cancer is not uncommon and must be taken seriously.

Symptoms of Breast Cancer

If you have any of the above symptoms, please visit your nearest Hospital or Health Center for a checkup. Remember this disease is very much curable in its early stages, hence do not hesitate to get checked up to avoid the growth of breast cancer to a metastatic stage.

WE ARE WITH YOU IN THIS FIGHT, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
